What is RentWise?

Johnson County RentWise is a six-module tenant education series that prepares individuals for successful renting endeavors. The goal of the program is to remove barriers and improve access to housing for people at risk of, or currently experiencing, homelessness.

Learning modules included in the series:
  • Communication and Conflict Resolution 
  • Managing your Money 
  • Finding a Place to Call Home 
  • Getting Through the Rental Process 
  • Taking Care of Your Home
  • When You Move Out​

Current Schedule

Modules are covered one topic per session by trained area professionals. RentWise will be taught to tenants at different area organizations during the spring quarter. There will also be an opportunity to learn how to teach RentWise at the Coralville Public Library Feburary 18th and 19th.

What to Expect

Questions?
  • Trained facilitators lead sessions
  • ​Sessions last two hours or less
  • Official RentWise materials will be available
  • Time taken to answer questions/ concerns throughout
  • New confidence about renting and housing in Johnson County
