Shelter House Computer Lab
Those seeking employment and housing are welcome to use the computer lab, which is staffed by an Employment Case Manager and trained Volunteers.
Monday
–Friday, 8–10AM

Shelter House Drop-In Service Hours:
Monday – Friday 1-4PM
Saturday – Sunday 8-10AM
Sign-up for admission to shelter begins daily at 6:00PM. You must be present to sign-up.

Free Evening Meal:
Monday-Saturday: Doors open at 4pm, dinner served at 5pm

Talk confidentially to a skilled volunteer who will listen with compassion, respond without judgment and treat you with respect

2019
NAMI Connection Recovery Support Group 
Tuesdays, 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM
The supports groups are held at R Place Peer Wellness Center located at 10 E. Benton St. Iowa City, IA. NAMI Connection is a national recovery support group for adults with mental illnesses regardless of their diagnosis. Groups meet for 90 minutes each week. Sessions are free, and they are led by trained individuals who are themselves in recovery.

NAMI’s Family Support Groups
Thursdays, 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM, at the 1105 Building
This group meets every week.
Onset of mental illness frequently occurs in a person’s 20s, after the age of adulthood has been reached, but nonetheless having a major impact on family members. The group focuses on stages of emotional response, principles of support and problem-solving. Attendance is free of charge.
